Welcome to the web site of the Sacandaga Protection Committee. Formed in 2009 in response to proposed changes to the 80 year old Sacandaga Lake permit system, the SPC's mission is to protect the environmental, economic and legal interests of the entire lake community. Although the permit system rule changes have been put on hold, the SPC continues to support the interests of the lake community. The SPC is active in several onging issues with potential impact to the lake community.
The Sacandaga Protection Committee will host the fourth annual Summer Fundraiser on Sunday July 12 at Lanzi’s on the Lake. The SPC attorney from Hodgson Russ and government affairs consultant from Bolton St Johns will be in attendance to discuss current issues. Last year saw a crowd of over 200 permit holders and community members in attendance brining in over $17,000 to support the efforts of the Sacandaga Protection Committee. This year's fundraiser will feature a silent auction and a steak dinner hosted by Lanzi's.
2014 was another busy year for the Sacandaga Protection Committee; we continued to address several issues that seem to have carried over year after year, addressed a few new concerns, and continued our annual summertime and fall fundraisers. Click HERE for the January 2015 Update
